With all the choices out there for holiday gifts, it can be hard to choose just one that the special child on your list will love. One of the gifts we reviewed this year was the Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-on. This 'toy' made us a little nervous at first. That's because it's actually a moveable fire engine that is in the ride-on toys category. Not only that, but the company suggests that the ages for the engine were 2 to 5. We had a hard time believing any parent would want to put their two year old on a moving vehicle. So we set out to see if the Kid Trax was truly a good gift for a child this year.
A Moving Fire Engine
This red fire engine has a two speed transmission and is a ride on vehicle toy. This movable toy vehicle also has a working spray hose, battery charger, megaphone and other removable rescue items. Although we were worried about allowing our child to drive around in this toy, we were very excited to see that it actually provides a lot of educational value. Children can learn and see what real firemen use to save others in life threatening situations such as fires.
How Fast Does it Go?
Again, we were a little nervous about the idea of a two year old on a moving fire engine, but the Kid Trax Fire Engine only goes up to five miles per hour. That's not very fast. Even the most protective parent wouldn't find that excessively fast, and it's actually pretty safe. In fact, it's no faster than your child would go if he or she were to propel the engine with leg power.
A Fun Toy?
By now we felt better about letting our children ride on the Kid Trax, and we even liked the idea that it didn't go very fast. But that's not all that surprised us. The Kid Trax Engine comes with flashing emergency lights, a working fire hose, as well as a lighted dashboard. All of this spells a great time for any kid who will surely want to spend a lot of time on it.
Overall we came to the conclusion that the Kid Trax Fire Engine is not only safe but extremely fun for our child making it a spectacular holiday gift. It is safe, fun to play with, and educational as well. There is always a chance that this could even inspire you child to become a fireman in the future. I actually wish there was such an amazing toy to play with back in the day when I was a child. The battery that powers the megaphone and lights will last up to ten hours. With all of these great features and the fact that you can ride and drive it will bring a large smile to your child's face!
